I’ve found that the faith in some non-Catholic Christians is undeniably stronger than in some Catholics. While they get a LOT wrong, I can’t help but notice they get a lot right in some ways too. Being fearless, remembering to pray about EVERYTHING, etc.
I’m wondering if anyone follows any non-Catholic Christians or is inspired by their relationship with Jesus or anything like that.
Do we think it’s ok to be inspired by other Christians as long as we’re adhering to Church teaching?
Good question for @legion I suppose, but I’m curious about others’ takes on this!

Inspiration from non-Catholics

I think about this in terms of Augustine's image of "plundering the Egyptians" in De Doctrina Christiana (e.g. taking pagan learning and putting it to God's service). The Church has the fullness of truth, so by learning from and being inspired by non-Catholics, we're really just reclaiming what belongs to the Church already!
Hi Heidejanemary;
I would say it’s okay with discernment. Obviously we can learn from these non Catholic brethren, for example, I love their devotion to scripture study and understanding the Bible and deep diving into what the Bible says on topics, we have the church and the councils to help out more now, but that’s one thing I absolutely miss about going to Church on Sunday. I love how some churches actively go out and drop of pamphlets and go out and try to bring people to church, which I wish more Catholics done for me.
However, their styles of worship, certain movements styles and practices id rather have them cease like speaking in tongues, altar calls, and saying the sinners prayer should be done away with in my opinion.

Yes I agree - this totally makes sense! Appreciate your input :)
I'd say it's good to be inspired as long as we stick to the Church ourselves. You're right that non-Catholic Christians (sometimes even also Jews and Muslims) are often much more serious about their faith than we are, sadly.
Think of how Jesus said that the children of darkness were more cunning in reaching their goals than the children of light.
