First Confession… Kinda Nervous
Having my first confession this week before Easter Vigil as a convert, and not gonna lie… I’m a little nervous. Coming from a non denominational background, I’m only used to (occasionally) repenting, directly to God. I share 99.9% of my struggles and sin on social media, but it feels so strange to look a priest in the eye and tell him my failures. I know it’s going to be good, but to do this for the first time, feels intimidating. Catholics, what was your first confession like?
💩
Are y’all really grateful for EVERYTHING if you’re not praying on the toilet, thanking God for healthy BMs?? Lmaooo
Events feature: thoughts?
Hey Legionaires, there’s a new update dropping soon with a bunch of new features and improvements. However I wanted to ask the community: what would you look for in an events feature if we were to make one? Our previous iteration was heavily underutilized, so we want to get it right this time! The biggest question is this: What would incentivize you to create and join events, especially online, considering that most of us here are spread out geographically?
Why do we even pray?
I’m a big believer in God’s will and that God has a plan. But then that said, why do we even pray if God already has a plan? Do we pray to change God’s mind? Who are we to try to change God’s mind?
Inspiration from non-Catholics
I’ve found that the faith in some non-Catholic Christians is undeniably stronger than in some Catholics. While they get a LOT wrong, I can’t help but notice they get a lot right in some ways too. Being fearless, remembering to pray about EVERYTHING, etc. I’m wondering if anyone follows any non-Catholic Christians or is inspired by their relationship with Jesus or anything like that. Do we think it’s ok to be inspired by other Christians as long as we’re adhering to Church teaching? Good question for @legion I suppose, but I’m curious about others’ takes on this!
Thoughts on guitars & mediocre cantors at Holy Mass
I just came back from Mass (NO) at a church I’d never been to before. To my surprise - but I guess it shouldn’t surprise me - there was practically a whole stage to the right of the altar where there was a lady playing acoustic guitar, another lady who only harmonized, a man playing electric guitar, a “front man” wearing sunglasses inside (idk… maybe he needs them for some reason 🤷🏼♀️), and another lady at the organ. All these people were middle aged and up. All of them sang at one point or another. The best way I can describe it is - it just wasn’t it. At all. They played and sang decently enough, the overused lyrics might’ve been sincere, but these kinds of “ensembles” just completely take away and distract from the solemnity and reverence of the Mass, therefore any level of talent or sincerity can’t really justify the cheap songs and guitar IMO. Nothing against them personally. Just wondering - WHY?? Thoughts? 🤔💭
If you’re a convert/revert, has the entertainment you consume changed?
For me, certain movies and music for example don’t appeal to me nearly as much when Christ is at the center of my life, but I’m still quite imperfect (entertain myself with less-than-virtuous content). I’m curious what anyone else’s experience is like in this regard! Answer the poll and lmk why you chose that option!
Bug: Making Comments
There’s currently bug where when typing comments, you can’t really type past 4 lines. Also aware that the comment counter on the bottom of posts can sometimes be inaccurate. Thank you everyone for reporting these. Keep sending in those reports and I’ll get them fixed in the next update!

St.Michael’s Prayer
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

When does "cultural appreciation" become heresy?
Imagine if you went on a winter trip to japan, and just for fun, you dress in a kimono, visit a shrine and draw a fortune. It says "good luck", you smile and show it to your friends and your instagram story. And you forget about it by the next hour. Have you betrayed jesus, or were you just appreciating the national tradition of the country you were visiting?
